Salma Kossemtini is a designer, a curator and a dedicated art mediator based in Tunis.
Her interest in contemporary art and design and their socio-cultural impact brought her to the Ecole Superieure Des Sciences et Technologies du Design Tunis, where she graduated in 2018. Salma is a fellow of the TASAWAR CURATORIAL STUDIOS 1, since 2020, she is the Tunisian coordinator of the TASAWAR CURATORIAL STUDIOS 2.
In curating, Salma takes her inspiration from observing social realities and from her experiences within her surroundings. Since 2016, Salma is part of the curatorial team of INTERFERENCE, where she can materialize her ideas. INTERFERENCE is a light art biennial that invites artists from Tunisia and all over the world to develop their projects inside and with the Medina of Tunis and with the inhabitants. Salma is also involved in SEE DJERBA Media art project that takes place in the southern Tunisian island of Djerba. In both festivals she is responsible for a studio where she follows the development of the artworks, discovering and choosing spaces to exhibit projects and for managing teams of volunteers in the framework of the art mediation program. In addition, she was invited to particiapte at liught and light-based media art projects like LICHTUNGEN Hildesheim 2018 and LICHTROUTEN Luedenscheid, both in Germany, where she hosted artists, coordinated the site guides and tour guides.
